Newton Kompetensutveckling is an education group that brings together several strong brands: SIH, Performing Arts School, and Dansforum. Together, these educational providers offer a wide range of programs in Social Development, Data/IT, Culture, Media & Design, Economics & Administration, Transport Services, Technology & Manufacturing, as well as Dance.
Newton offers vocational higher education, diploma programs, and courses in Real Estate, Construction, IT, Film, and TV.
The leased premises span approximately 1,260 square meters and will be customized to support a modern and inspiring learning environment. The school is expected to welcome its first students in August, 2026.
“We are very pleased to welcome Newton to EQ Sthlm. Their decision to remain in Stockholm’s Hamnkvarter is a strong testament to the area’s appeal, and their presence adds an educational dimension to the district. This aligns perfectly with our ambition to create a dynamic mix of offices, services, and experiences,” says Ola Kolmert, Business Developer at Niam.
“Stockholm’s Hamnkvarter is an ideal location for our new education hub – central, accessible, and part of a forward-looking urban district. Being close to projects that our students may one day work on makes the location even more relevant. We have already carried out study visits in the area and look forward to continuing to build bridges between education and real-world practice,” says Johanna Belsing, CEO of Newton Kompetensutveckling.
Stockholm’s Hamnkvarter is being transformed into a lively and accessible city district that brings together workplaces, education, homes, culture, and restaurants – all in a unique waterfront location with excellent transport connections.
The development of Stockholm’s Hamnkvarter is a joint effort led by the City of Stockholm together with Areim, Bonnier Fastigheter, Castellum, Niam, Stockholms Hamnar, Vasakronan, and Wallfast. United by a shared vision, the parties have formed a new company – Stadsutvecklarna i Värtahamnen AB – to coordinate the area’s transformation. Within the district, Niam owns and operates properties for office and hotel use and is developing the office buildings Grid 17 and The Dockworks.
