From Nordic real assets to a full-spectrum private markets platform

Niam was founded in 1998 with a clear ambition: to introduce a more active, value-driven approach to real asset investing in the Nordic region. At a time when institutional real estate investing was still emerging, Niam was among the first to apply private equity principles to real assets — combining local market insight with hands-on ownership and disciplined capital allocation.

Over the past decades, Niam has played a role in shaping the modern Nordic real asset landscape. From early large-scale portfolio acquisitions in Sweden and Finland in the 2000s, to landmark residential developments, logistics hubs and long-term investments across Norway and Denmark, our history is closely tied to the transformation of Nordic cities and infrastructure.

These investments, executed across varying market cycles, have contributed to sustainable neighborhoods, efficient logistics networks and modern work environments that continue to support Nordic business and everyday life.
